FBLA

Want to become a leader in your school? If
you are, then see Mrs. Brooks, eighth grade Computer Discovery
teacher, to join FBLA. The FBLA (Future Business Leaders of
America) is the oldest and largest national organization for
students preparing for careers in business leadership. Open only
to eighth grade students, FBLA will provide you with travel
opportunities, challenging competitions, and leadership
development. It will allow you to participate in community
service and to have fun. Last year the FBLA participated in
FBLA week, the March of Dimes Walk, the Sweetheart Dance, and a
Pizza Party.
Members
have the opportunity to compete for awards and recognition on
the local and national levels. The purpose of FBLA is to provide
students with opportunities to explore and experience positive
leadership skills for their present lifestyles, as well as their
future work styles. If you are interested joining the CMS FBLA
contact Mrs. Brooks at CMS.
FCA
FCA club stands
for Fellowship of Christians Athletes. They meet on
Thursday mornings at 7:25. They have a rally planned
this fall to see a Mississippi State football game. FCA is
open to all students at Caledonia Middle School.
Beta Club
National Jr. Beta Club is a community service organization. Our
members are examples of good character and show high academic
achievement.
United Way
United Way is a
charity that is supported by our entire district. It
provides assistance to the local community through several
resources. This is so we can give back to the
community in times of need. Our school supports
United Way. We have a fundraising event each year
here at CMS, which is in turn donated to United Way.
Peer Council
The Peer Council
is an Inter-school support group made up of the school
counselor, teachers, and a selected group of
students. Students are selected through teachers nominations.
Along with the nominations, they
must have high academic standings. The counselors are
responsible for welcoming new students at CMS, promoting high
self-esteem, and supporting students in need of a shoulder to
lean on or an ear to talk to through difficult times.
Membership in FBLA will provide
